Connie discusses their flagship project which allows charities to provide transparency and accountability to their donor via blockchain technology. She also describes some amazing projects the foundation has been involved with such as a girl’s coding school in Afghanistan and providing relief to the Bahamas. 

We discuss the process for selecting charities and the possibilities and challenges of cryptocurrency in the non-profit world.

Connie is the Founder and Executive Director of BitGive, established in 2013, the first government recognized 501(c)(3) Bitcoin nonprofit, focused on bridging the gap between an innovative technology and its practical applications for nonprofits and humanitarian work in the developing world. Previously, Connie worked with environmental organizations in California for over 14 years, specializing in consulting, strategy development, policy and advocacy, funding assistance, and program management. Most notably, her work included the development and implementation of multi-million dollar programs in public funding for the environmental sector. She also currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Sierra Business Council and Tahoe Silicon Mountain.
